ABC Picks Up 666 PARK AVENUE, NEIGHBORS, Cancels THE RIVER

More mixed news from the networks; we’ve now heard from ABC. We already knew that Once Upon a Time had been picked up for another season. Now comes word that 666 Park Avenue, the damned-demon-inhabited apartment building owned by The Smoke Monster Terry O’Quinn‘s character, will be open for business, and new alien Neighbors will be moving onto ABC‘s schedule as well.

Unfortunately, ABC‘s support of sci-fi didn’t extend to the uber-creepy super-scary adventure The River, which they have chosen to cancel after one season. Fans, feel free to insert the epithet of your choice here. The DVD set for the first season, and now sadly the only season, will be released on May 22, and we’ll be posting a review then. The River starred Bruce GreenwoodJoe AndersonLeslie Hope, and Eloise Mumford, and we wish them and the whole production company all the best in their future endeavors.

ABC will be making its “upfront” presentation this week, at which time the fall schedule may be offered up, along with more information about each of the shows. In other words, there’s lots more info to come in the coming days. We’ll keep you posted.
