ABC Casts its Beauty for its Reimagined BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

First a quick reminder: ABC is owned by Disney; that’s how you remember that the ABC Beauty and the Beast pilot is a reimagining of the classic fairy tale. The CW‘s Beauty and the Beast pilot is a reboot of the 1980s TV series with Linda Hamilton. This article is about the ABC reimagining. Ready?

We told you last week that the ABC BATB had cast their Beast, who in the series is a mercenary body guard and mysterious beast known as  “Shiro” and that he will be played by Scottish singer Darius Campbell. Deadline has now broken the news that they have cast their Beauty, a princess known as Grace, who will be played by Irish actor Ruth Bradley, known to you and me as Emily the time traveling Victorian woman in Primeval.

Wouldn’t it be so great if they’re both allowed to keep their natural accents?! PLEASE, CW? There are an awful lot of fantasy lovers out here who love accents. Just saying.

We’ll keep you posted.
