You were hoping that I meant Lex Luthor, weren’t you? Well sadly, that’s not the case (yet), but John Glover who played Lionel Luthor, the founder of LuthorCorp, father of Michael Rosenbaum‘s Lex Luthor and the emissary of Jor-El, will be returning for the tenth and final season of The CW’s Smallville. Glover’s senior Luthor met his demise at the hands of his son in season 7.

Glover will appear in at least two episodes to air in November. We last saw Lionel Luther when Lex tore the Veritas locket from Lionel’s neck and pushed him out of a window to his death. This resurrection will be interesting indeed as John Schneider, aka Clark’s late adoptive father “Pa Kent”, will also be appearing this season. Michael Rosenbaum had previously stated that he will not return as Lex Luthor, but Tom Welling as well as many fans are still hoping that Rosenbaum will take up the role one last time.
