Fans of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, rejoice! BBC Radio 4 reports that a Good Omens radio drama is in production to be aired this holiday season. Directed by Dirk Maggs (Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Neverwhere) and with voice talent provided by Mark Heap (Spaced, Stardust) and Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy, Shaun of the Dead), Good Omens is a satirical fantasy that tells the story of an unlikely alliance between an angel and a demon who must join forces to stop the End of Times.

BBC4 Radio also named Sherlock‘s Louise Brealey, Julia Deakin, Clive Russell, Simon Jones, Arsher Ali, Phil Davis and Mark Benton as part of the cast. The production will also feature cameos by Gaiman and Pratchett. Good Omens will premiere in early December with five 30-minute episodes leading up to a one hour finale on December 25th.

Radi0 dramas have a long-standing tradition in the U.K., featuring full casts of characters that make for hours of delightful listening pleasure. Last year Gaiman’s Neverwhere was adapted as a radio drama with names like Benedict Cumberbatch, Natalie Dormer, James McAvoy, and Anthony Stewart Head bringing the wonderful story to life.
