It’s been since October since we’ve reported on Marvel’s Captain America: Winter Soldier and we have quite a while to wait for the second installment of our favorite American Hero as played by Chris Evans. Well, *THE* Robert Redford is confirmed to be joining the cast in an role that has yet to be released.

When asked about his involvement here’s what he told Spinoff:

The Captain America thing is just a very simple thing, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to do something just to be different. Something bold, different. And that felt like a good thing to do. That was it, nothing more to it than that. Well, it’s bold in terms of expectations, I guess.

Robert Redford joins Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Toby Jones (Arnim Zola) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Falcon), Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter), Frank Grillo (Crossbones) and Max Hernandez (Agent Jasper Sitwell) along with Chris Evans, of course.

We’ll keep you posted on Captain America: Winter Soldier which is slated to hit theaters and 3D April 4th 2014.
