One can presume that, in a world overrun by zombies, prison inmates would not be safe. They’re either gonna turn, get eaten, and/or die, because the guards will have turned, been eaten, and/or died. So when we say “The Walking Dead prison fight” we don’t mean gangs or even hair-pulling. We mean the usual The Walking Dead kind of fight. Live ‘uns versus, you know, the walking dead.
But wait til you see these pictures! Not only are they our first glimpse of the prison, excluding the lovely computer generated one we had at the end of Season 2, but Our Gang looks organized, imagine! Will that be a benefit of the new Ricktatorship? AND LOOK, IT’S T-DOG! Maybe he won’t be so neglected in Season 3. And Maggie is looking totally fierce in the second shot. Check ’em out:
Showrunner Glen Mazzara told EW this about the prison set:
I’m incredibly proud of the prison… I think our crew has done a great job. It’s a huge sense of scale and magnitude I haven’t seen on any other show as far as construction. What’s important to us is, the prison itself is now a character in the show. It’s a haunted house, it’s scary, it’s frightening, and there are parts of the prison that are always terrifying, that are always inaccessible to our group. It’s not necessarily the blessing that the prison in the comic book turned out to be.
Oooo!
Hopefully we’ll get the premiere date during the Comic-Con panel next week, like we did last year. With the panel in Hall H this year, we’d better get at least that out of them. Oh, and hopefully the first official new season trailer, also like we did last year. We’ll keep you posted!
The Walking Dead Season 3, starring Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Norman Reedus, Michael Rooker, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Melissa McBride, Iron-E Singleton, Danai Gurira, and David Morrissey, premieres in October on AMC.
