What’s up next from the lovely, ever-creative mind of Joss Whedon? Now that The Avengers is in post-production, Whedon has not only found time to pull off his own low-budget version of Much Ado About Nothing, starring Whedonverse alumni Nathan Fillion, Alexis Denisof, Amy Acker, Sean Maher, Fran Kranz, Tom Lenk, and Reed Diamond, but he has already lined himself up with his next project.
According to NYMag, Whedon’s next movie will be “a supernatural romance” to star Abigail Spencer (Oz: The Great and Powerful, Cowboys & Aliens). Spencer was quoted at this past weekend’s Art of Elysium gala in LA saying:
“His next movie, I start that next month. It’s my first time [doing a project with Whedon], but I’ve always wanted to work with him. I’m so excited to do it.”
No hard and fast details were made available about the film yet, but Spencer describes it thusly:
“It’s the most romantic film in the history of time. It’s a supernatural romance.”
Intrigued? I am! Whedon has an uncanny ability to find a fresh and new take on just about any subject so I’m excited to see what comes of this. I hope you guys are, too.
