LAST MAN STANDING Nabs Orphan Screenwriter

Last fall, we brought you news that the Comic-Con sensation, Last Man Standing: Killbook of a Bounty Hunter, had been snatched up by Paramount Pictures. The graphic novel by Daniel LuVisi, published by Heavy Metal Publishing, had sold out in a mere two hours this past summer at San Diego Comic-Con.

Variety reports that Paramount has tapped screenwriter David Leslie Johnson (Orphan, Wrath of the Titans) to write the adaptation of Last Man Standing.

The story of Last Man Standing occurs 600 years into the future and follows an “invincible soldier created to help Earth win a war against Mars. After becoming a celebrity hero, he’s framed for a heinous crime by a terrorist organization. After a nine-year prison sentence, he escapes and sets out to even the score.”

Scott Aversano (Ghosts/Aliens) is slated to produce alongside LuVisi. Stehan Lokotsch, Russell Binder and Peter Levin are executive producers on the project.
