Following up to what we reported to you last week, we were keeping tabs on the coming barrage of Frankenstein films coming down the Hollywood pipeline. 20th Century Fox was hoping to snag director Shawn Levy to helm their untitled Frankenstein project to kickstart the film ahead of pack.
Variety has confirmed that Levy has signed on to take on Fox’s Frankenstein film. Fox had already tapped Max Landis (Chronicle) to write the screen play. This version of the classic tale has been described “as a sci-fi take on the traditional Mary Shelley story, focusing on themes of friendship and redemption.”
Fox is hoping to begin production this winter ahead of the many other Frankenstein-related films in development right now.
