Oliver Platt (2012, Love and Other Drugs) has joined the cast of the Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, Stardust) directed X-Men: First Class for 20th Century Fox. Platt joins a cast that includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi and Jason Flemyng.

Deadline reports that Platt will play the mysterious non-mutant role of The Man in Black in the film. No other character details have been released.

X-Men: First Class is slated to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2011.
