The second season of the comic-adapted-for-television, Human Target, has been pushed to premiere on October 1st on Fox. The series has also added a few beautiful ladies to the cast who sound like they can hold their own against this predominantly male cast. Human Target has snagged Indira Varma (Rome, Bones, Torchwood) and Janet Montgomery (Entourage) for its second season.

Varma will play a new regular character of Isla, the “new team leader”. Ilsa who is described as “sophisticated, driven and principled. She is a widow with a vast fortune that she uses to help better the world. Ilsa finds Chance’s lethal methods and his past deeds unacceptable, but she will learn to appreciate (slowly) the altruistic benefits that he has to offer. Ilsa is witty, sexy, clearly in charge and doesn’t take any nonsense from anyone. Chance has met his match.”

Executive producer Matthew Miller hopes the character of Isla will improve upon the show’s dynamics:

“It gives a boss to these guys, and how is Chance (Mark Valley) going to respond to a woman that’s now his boss, and watching that romantic tension play out throughout the course of a season.”

Montgomery has been cast in the recurring role of Ames, “an experienced thief who ends up assisting Chance, Winston, and Guerrero on missions.”

The series stars Mark Valley, Jackie Earle Haley, and Chi McBride.

Human Target premieres with its second season on Friday, October 1 at 8pm ET/PT on Fox.
