Jon Favreau recently sat down for an interview and revealed that the character of Howard Stark, Tony Stark’s father (played by John Slattery in Iron Man 2) will appear in the Joe Johnston directed, Captain America: The First Avenger.

He explained that the character will most likely be played by a different actor in Captain America since that film takes place during World War II.

Favreau said,

“Yeah, because he was around then. [‘Captain America’] is World War II. It wouldn’t be that same actor, probably, because he would be much younger. [Howard Stark] was starting out during that time, and [he] was involved with the war effort, much like Howard Hughes.”

Captain America: The First Avenger is slated to hit theaters on July 22nd, 2011.
