Signing event celebrates launch of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Music Box Music Box #1 cover

Apple Store, Third Street Promenade to host co-writer Scott Lobdell

New series launches in print and on the iPhone on October 28th

This Wednesday, October 28th at 7 pm, IDW Publishing launches Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Music Box with two great Los Angeles-area events! Meltdown Comics in West Hollywood will host award-winning actress Jennifer Love Hewitt for a one-hour signing to celebrate the release of her first comic book series. Currently starring in CBS’s The Ghost Whisperer, Hewitt and IDW Publishing are proud to launch Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Music Box, a five-issue anthology series chronicling a mysterious music box that causes strange occurrences for the people who possess it. Co-writer Scott Lobdell will also appear at the Apple Store, Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica for a special panel offering insight on the creative process behind this hot new title.

“Jennifer created a really interesting premise for a comic book series and we can’t wait to get it to fans,” said IDW Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, Chris Ryall. “We’re inviting everyone to come and join us at Meltdown Comics and the Apple Store to help celebrate the Music Box launch.”

Music Box will be released both in comic book specialty stores and as an iPhone and iPod touch application on October 28th, the first time such a coordinated release has occurred. Hewitt will be signing copies of the book at Meltdown Comics, while Lobdell and Ryall will be discussing the creative process and the new iPhone app at Apple Store.

“I’m really enjoying creating my very own comic and look forward to sharing it,” said Hewitt. “Music Box is like a very fun nightmare and coming just in time for Halloween.”

Co-written by Hewitt and veteran comic scribe Lobdell, each issue of Music Box presents a new story in each issue, as different people come into contact with the music box and have unique experiences. Be it time travel, alternative realties or just plain evil, Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Music Box masterfully weaves new and compelling stories with every issue.

“Who knew that behind that sweet million dollar smile of hers was a mind capable of coming up with such dark and dangerous stories?” said Lobdell. “Fans of Love will be dancing to a new tune… one that’s played by this mysterious music box from who- knows-where.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Music Box #1 (of 5) debuts on October 28, 2009. Diamond order code SEP09 0868.
