MTV caught up with Zombieland co-writer Paul Wernick who revealed that a sequel is a real possibility. “We would love it, and everyone involved creatively wants to do another one,” Paul Wernick tells MTV. “Woody came up to us after the final cut of the last scene and gave us a hug and said, ‘I’ve never wanted to do a sequel in the previous movies I’ve done until this one.’ ” There’s plenty more, including the tease that the returning core crew would include Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and first-time director Ruben Fleischer.
The writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, originally intended for ZOMIELAND to be a television series, but the crazy network execs at CBS passed on the idea. According to the writing duo, ZOMBIELAND covered the first two episodes of the series. Wernick added, “We’ve got a 23 episode season in our head. So divided by two that’s about 12 movies in our head swimming around.”
