A few years ago I went to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. It was during the Christmas break, close to New Year’s Eve. It was packed, elbow to elbow. And even though it would have been exponentially more fun without 200,000 of my closest human acquaintances, it was the most amazing experience.
This weekend airs Harry Potter: The Making of Diagon Alley on CNBC and it shows the making of the expanded universe from the the old Hogsmead location through a ride on the Hogwarts Express to the newly constructed, just opened, Diagon Alley.
This area of the park features a second Ollivander’s Wand Shop, a Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes, Gringott’s Bank (with fire breathing dragon atop it, animatronic goblins, and a ride), the Leaky Cauldron for your hunger needs, and more. Here are a few pictures from Diagon Alley, followed by a little blurb about the show this weekend.
Get a behind-the-scenes look at the design and construction of the latest Harry Potter theme park experience at Universal Orlando Resort. Host Meredith Vieira details the tremendous global effort and groundbreaking technology involved in bringing this enchanted world to life.
Harry Potter: The Making of Diagon Alley airs on Saturday, July, 26th at 8:00 PM EST on CNBC.
