One of Boom! Studios most anticipated new titles has already sold out of its 12,000 copy first run. Day Men #1, the first issue of the new vampire thriller written by Matt Gagnon and Michael Alan Nelson and drawn by industry legend Brian Stelfreeze is now being readied for a second pressing, with an alternative cover drawn by Stelfreeze.
Bleedingcool.com first broke the news, with the following message from Boom! Studios attached:
Day Men #1 is the first time Brian Stelfreeze has drawn interiors on a regular series since 2005. Brian’s work in the issue is some of the best of his career and the last time he drew interiors (Hardcore #1) the issue saw an immediate sell out and brisk reorder activity on the second issue. It’s also the latest in our run of original series like Polarity, Six-Gun Gorilla, Suicide Risk, and Clive Barker’s Next Testament that are garnering critical acclaim and brisk sales.
And here’s the synopsis:
For thousands of years, the world has been controlled by the “50 Families” — a secret network of vampire covens engaged in a timeless struggle for power. But when the sun rises, the vampires are forced to employ the services of a human who acts as their daytime fixer and protector…Trained for centuries to be the mortal soldiers of their vampire employers, the Day Men go forth at sunrise, alone into the world, to do the bidding of their sleeping benefactors.
Written by Matt Gagnon (FREELANCERS) & Michael Alan Nelson (DC’s SUPERGIRL, HEXED) and drawn by industry legend Brian Stelfreeze. DAY MEN is a sexy, action-packed epic that brings modern master Brian Stelfreeze back to drawing monthly comics for the first time since 2005!
Day Men‘s first pressing is set to ship later this month.
