300 Prequel Looks To Cast Aussie Actor Joel Edgerton as Themosticles

A few weeks ago, we checked in on the 300 prequel and found out what would have to happen before Gerard Butler would choose to return to the world Zack Snyder adapted from Frank Miller’s graphic novel. The news on the pulse of this prequel now is that Warner Bros is looking to cast the star of 300: Battle of Artemisia.

According to Vulture, the studio is in talks with The Thing actor Joel Edgerton (Great Gatsby, Warrior) to star in the follow up to Snyder’s 2006 stylized epic. If cast, the Aussie actor would play Themosticles, “the famed archon and general who led the Greeks to victory against the invading Persians in 480 BCE.”

300: Battle of Artemisia will be directed by Noam Murro (Smart People).
