‘Drawn Together” Movie Announced

drawntogethercastphotoFans of the animated series “Drawn Together” rejoice!  The animated “Real World”- type show, featuring zany stereotypical animated characters of all walks (all resembling other characters we all know and love/hate), will have a movie in March of 2010 for direct to video/DVD release.

This will be the first movie for Comedy Central’s cult show.  Creators, writers, and executive producers Matt Silverstein and Dave Jeser on the “Drawn Together: The Movie”:

‘Drawn Together’s’ reunion with Comedy Central is like marrying an old ex-girlfriend.  I mean, are we doing this because we love each other and are destined to be together? Or is it because neither one of us could do any better? As is often the case, it’s probably both.

According to THR, the movie’s plot goes something like this:

When the mystery-solving musician Foxxy notices she and her fellow housemates can suddenly curse without being bleeped, they realize that their show has been cancelled and start fighting to get it back on the air.

“Drawn Together” originally premiered in 2004 on Comedy Central, airing for three seasons and a total of 36 eps.  The show was cancelled last November.  Show creators are hoping that strong DVD sales will prompt the show to be renewed.

At San Diego’s Comic-Con 2009, certain scenes were aired at the “Drawn Together” panel, but the highlight of the panel was “a live table read of a not-yet-produced 3D sex scene from the film”.

Didn’t think we’d get to 3D in that way so quickly, did ya?  Here’s the table read! WARNING: ADULT MATERIAL!!
