Well kids, it’s been a long time coming, but we’re on our way. We all loved the noir design of the SciFi Mafia website, but it was as troublesome as an unstable wormhole. And that trouble had finally reached critical mass. So, as much as we’d love to have presented a perfect and finalized new design to our beloved readers, keeping the site open was more important.
So here we are at the interim step, with all of the heavy lifting, and all of the finesse, the work product of Reporter, Critic, Tornado Alley Correspondent, Book Department Editor, and Redesign Chief Engineer Brandon Johnston. THANK YOU BRANDON, for all of the time you’ve spent and will unfortunately continue to spend, and for graciously implementing all of my “how about..” requests.
The absolutely superior new logo — seriously, isn’t it the coolest? — is courtesy of the immensely talented graphic designer John Orso, who is, luckily for us, the spouse of our Managing Editor and Southern Correspondent Jess Orso, who often keeps this ship moving near-singlehandedly, and whose input on the redesign technical stuff, much of it beyond my comprehension, has been invaluable. THANK YOU JOHN AND JESS.
Yes, items sporting the excellent new logo will be available for adornment of your person and surroundings soon, also part of the in-progress-ness.
And no moving-on-but-not-letting-go would be complete without special thanks to Senior Managing Editor Lillian Standefer and our beloved founder Jason Moore, upon whose petite but fierce shoulders, and mighty and indomitable shoulders, respectively, the rest of us happily stand.
Please let us know in the comments below if you have any issues with the site as we continue to tweak, poke at, cajole, and hopefully not have to take too many swift kicks at, this redesign-in-progress, and thanks in advance for your patience.
