Last month, we brought you the news when Warner Bros. Pictures hired screenwriter Jane Goldman (X-Men: First Class, The Woman in Black) to pen the big screen adaptation of the Image Comics series Nonplayer by Nate Simpson.
Now, Variety reports that Warner Bros. Pictures has picked up yet another comic book series to bring to the big screen. This time, it’s the Archaia Entertainment series Lucid, penned by Michael McMillian (True Blood), with artwork by Anna Wieszczyk. The series takes place in a parallel universe where magic is real and world leaders have secret agents working for them to fight off supernatural threats. The main character is a young agent, recently appointed “Protector of the Realm,” who must use his skills as a covert spy and combat mage to stop an occult technology dealer.
Zachary Quinto and Neal Dodson of Before the Door will produce the project alongside writer-producer Akiva Goldsman. The project will see Archaia’s editor-in-chief Stephen Christy and PJ Bickett as executive producers.
No production or release date has been announced for Lucid.
