Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Serenity) has reportedly joined the cast of Michael Bay‘s Transformers 3. Tudyk joins an eclectic cast that includes Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Julie White, Kevin Dunn, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, Ken Jeong and Patrick Dempsey.

Paramount Pictures confirmed Tudyk’s casting to TheWrap, though the studio is currently keeping Tudyk’s actual role and the film’s plot under wraps for now.

Transformers 3 is slated to hit theaters on July 1st, 2011.
