Just a couple of weeks ago, director Christopher Nolan revealed the title of the third film in his critically acclaimed Bat Trilogy for Warner Bros., which will be called The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan also cleared up that the oft-rumored appearance of The Riddler as the big black bat’s villain would not appear in the film.
Now, Backstage reports that The Dark Knight Rises is now officially set to begin principal photography this April in New Orleans, Louisiana. Chicago will still reportedly be standing in for Gotham City, as it did for both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
The Dark Knight Rises is slated to hit theaters on July 20th, 2012.
