There are very few moments where I experience a wave of jealousy washing over me, when it comes to the lucky internet journalists that get to hang with stars in California whilst I do my best to bring you the news from the other side of the country in Florida, aka “God’s waiting room”. What you are about to view below is one of those few moments.
Josh Horowitz (hereafter referred to as “The Bastard from MTV”) got the chance to spend some quality time with the man who will don the cape in the forthcoming, Zack Snyder directed film, Man of Steel. The Bastard from MTV was lucky enough to escort Henry Cavill (Immortals), the new last son of Krypton through WonderCon in San Francisco and grill him for five minutes about all things Superman.
With that, check out the video below and watch “The Bastard from MTV” walk with Superman.
Interview: Walking with Superman
Let me be clear, I’m not jealous because Cavill’s “dreamy” or because I’m starstruck. I’m jealous because he is picking up the mantle of a legendary character, and Snyder’s film could do for Supes what Nolan’s films have done for Batman, so getting the chance to speak with the man who will be Kal-El before that potentially happens, is a pretty huge deal… even just from a fan perspective.
[The Shakedown]
I’ll admit that I had known nothing of Cavill’s personality, nor his acting when it was announced that he’d scored the role of Superman. After seeing this interview, I have a much better feeling about the role being won by him. What about you? Let me know in the comments.
Man of Steel, directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
