An American remake of Nacho Vigalondo‘s Spanish time travel flick Timecrimes (Los Cronocrímenes) has been in the works ever since it was first picked up, following the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Back then, it was in development at United Artists, which was part of the then financially struggling MGM, and the film subsequently ended up in limbo.
Fast-forward to the present and the project has since been picked up by DreamWorks and the film’s producer, Steve Zaillian (Schindler’s List, Mission: Impossible), who has been shepherding the project since it was at UA, is now rewriting the original script penned by Tim Sexton.
TimeCrimes is an intricate science fiction thriller in which a man repeatedly goes back in time an hour in an attempt to alter the events of a crime.
