The news is coming in fast and furious for the casting for X-Men: Days of Future Past and there is a lot of speculation for who will be cast to return to the X-Men family and reprise their roles from earlier movies, and who will be cast as new characters we haven’t seen on the big screen yet. First let’s start with the new girl.
Fan Bingbing (Double Exposure) has joined the elite group per the announcement from director, Bryan Singer, via twitter. You can see her picture on the bottom row, second from the right. She has been cast to play Blink (according to Deadline).

Now for the people you won’t be seeing in X-Men: Days of Future Past. According to Digital Spy, we’re not to expect the likes of January Jones (Emma Frost), Alex Gonzalez (Riptide), Zoe Kravitz (Angel Salvadore) and Jason Flemyng (Azazel) to be appearing in this movie.
The jury is still out on Alan Cumming reprising his role as Nightcrawler. According to MTV, he is most DEFINITELY NOT coming back, quoting him in a Sirius XM interview.
No, they haven’t [asked me to return]…I know the one that’s coming up shoots this Spring, but I wouldn’t be available anyways.
And Bryan Singer said this to The Huffington Post mid-February.
I don’t know. We’ll see. You know … we’ll see.
I don’t want to … sometimes you don’t want to say “yes” or “no” to something that may not be a “yes” or a “no,” or anything. I haven’t decided yet, a few things. I’m still, you know — there are certain aspects of the script that I’m still toying with.
But to confuse things Digital Spy noted that when James McAvoy was asked to list his cast mates in recent radio interview, he included Alan Cumming.
You got me, [Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender,] Nicholas Hoult will be back, and he’s just blossoming massively over [in America],” he said.
“Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Alan Cumming, Peter Dinklage I hear mentioned – I don’t know if that’s happening – ‘Huge’ Jackman is coming by, he’s massive, 7’5″ and muscly.
But if we are to believe anything we can only believe it when it comes from Bryan Singer. SIGH.
Also, still floating around in rumor world is Daniel Cudmore’s reprisal of his character Colossus. His response is a lot like Cumming‘s. He’d love to do it, hasn’t heard anything and is busy any way. Here’s what he told Comic Book Therapy.
The movie industry is funny in the fact that unless you are at the very top of the totem pole, you don’t really know a lot. You go to work and do your thing and then if something more than whatever you did is going to come about, you hear about it later on but I didn’t really hear much rumblings about whether or not is was going to be any bigger for some of our characters. I know they were setting it up so that there is the potential if they ever wanted to go down that avenue they could. At the end of the day, I’d love to reprise the role but I’m on to other things and I’m constantly working.
Shouldn’t be too long before we hear something for sure on these two.
