As SciFi Mafia reported to you this week, Marvel’s anime projects for Iron Man and Wolverine will premiere stateside in July with a “heroic” draw of voice talent from former Heroes actors, Adrian Pasdar and Milo Ventimiglia.
At WonderCon in San Fransisco, Marvel’s EVP Head of Television, Jeph Loeb spoke with G4’s Blair Butler on these and two other Marvel anime series’, Blade and X-Men. Marvel partnered with Sony and Madhouse Animation to create four, twelve-part stories for Iron Man, Wolverine, Blade, and X-Men. Marvel has also tapped writer Warren Ellis for these storylines.
With the casting announcement of Pasdar (Castle, Garden of Evil) as Tony Stark and Ventimiglia (The Divide, Static) as Logan, it is interesting to note that these anime series’ were originally made in Japanese. These two stars will lend their hero-qualities to the roles as Loeb describes:
“They are both extraordinary actors who are lending themselves to these parts. What I really like about them is that their own personalities are very much like those guys.”
