Sam Worthington States The Obvious About The New ‘Clash Of The Titans’

sam-worthington-pictureSam Worthington has reportedly revealed that special effects in the Clash Of The Titans remake surpass those of the original film.

The Terminator Salvation actor signed on to play Perseus in director Louis Leterrier’s update of the 1981 Greek mythology-based picture in November.

The original employed stop-motion animated effects by Ray Harryhausen, who had worked on bringing inanimate objects to life in features such as Jason And The Argonauts, The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad and One Million Years B.C.. Titans marked his retirement from filmmaking.

However, Worthington said that today’s technology has vastly improved the capabilities for action sequences in the reboot.

He told MTV:

“Nowadays, you have the privilege of CG. So what the guys and Louis have set out to do is raise the Richter scale to 11 in the sense of the scorpions are the size of dump trucks, and Medusa’s a lot quicker, a lot scarier.”

Clash Of The Titans will be released in cinemas on March 26, 2010.
