Whether it’s because he just couldn’t wait until this coming Sunday’s American Horror Story panel at PaleyFest, or because he knows that the info has been swirling around already and he wanted to make it official, or for other reasons of his own, co-creator and co-showrunner Ryan Murphy today has announced the title of the upcoming fourth season of American Horror Story:

We reported earlier this month that AHS writer Douglas Petrie apparently got hoodwinked into confirming the rumor that the show would be based in a carnival, but now we have a name. I’m already feeling slightly nauseated imagining what horrors await us this fall. Excellent!

American Horror Story: Freak Show, starring Jessica Lange, is expected to premiere in October, on FX.
