Earlier this week, we brought you the title and logo that Marvel Studios revealed for their forthcoming Thor sequel at San Diego Comic-Con. Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor will be helming the follow-up entitled Thor: The Dark World, starring Chris Hemsworth.
In a recent interview, stuntman James Grogan may have revealed the film’s villains and given us some insight into what exactly The Dark World is alluding to.
Grogan said (via Comingsoon),
“The other day for example, this is quite random but I was working on Thor 2,” he explains, “I had a load of stunt guys in and the director came in and he said ‘Look, we want you all to be elves,’ and I was like ‘What the hell is an elf anyway?’ and he said ‘I want you all to walk around like these supernatural animals,’ honestly it was the most ridiculous thing ever but you just have to not be self aware and get on with it.”
This leads one to believe that Thor will be battling the dark elves of Svartalfheim, who posses superhuman strength and speed, quick reflexes and heightened intelligence. The big baddie of the film was originally to be portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen, who we have reported had recently backed out the project, though would have been a good fit as Malekith the Accursed, the leader of the dark elves.
Thor: The Dark World is slated to hit theaters on November 8, 2013.
