Eva Longoria Parker (Desperate Housewives) has reportedly been cast in Marvel Studios‘ upcoming film, The Avengers, and Nathan Fillion (Castle) is reportedly in final negotiations to join the Joss Whedon (Firefly, Serenity) directed Marvel team-up movie as well. The rumors are nothing new, there has been speculation for quite awhile that Fillion would be cast in the film, as well as Longoria since she was spotted outside Marvel with a stack of Avengers comic books back in 2008.

According to CBM’s “well trusted source“, Fillion would play Dr. Henry “Hank” Pym/Ant-Man and Longoria would play Janet Van Dyne/The Wasp. There is no confirmation as to whether or not the actors would take on their hero persona’s in the film, or if they would simply remain S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists until the proposed Ant-Man film to be directed by Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World).

While this is obviously a very persistent rumor, it’s definitely not out of the realm of possibility. If true, I would expect an announcement at (or around) Comic-Con next month.

I’m definitely in favor of Fillion being cast in.. well, anything – because I dig him but, Longoria I’m not so sure about. What say you? Let me know in the comments!
