Ridley Scott Planning PROMETHEUS Sequel for 2014 or 2015

After scoring over $300 million word-wide, it should come as no surprise that 20th Century Fox wants Ridley Scott to helm a follow-up to his kind-of-an-Alien-prequel-but-not-really Prometheus, which starred Noomi Rapace, Logan Marshall-Green, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris and Guy Pearce.

Fox has confirmed that they are in production on said sequel, and the studio’s production president Emma Watts had this to say about the follow-up:

“Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we have to get it right. We can’t rush it.”

Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are already contracted for a second film, but screenwriter Damon Lindelof may not be able to return due to his numerous other projects. Fox and Ridley Scott are currently considering other writers for the sequel, which may hit theaters in 2014 or 2015.

No production or release dates have officially been announced for the as yet Untitled Prometheus Sequel.
