Supernatural finally returns tonight with the second half of its eighth season, and we are double happy because according to all sources at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, things are looking good for a ninth season. Both Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are under contract for another year, and The CW’s president Mark Pedowitz is a big supporter.

He told the TCA last week that he felt “creatively, the show is in a good place,” noting that he’s pleased with its total viewership increase after moving from Fridays to Wednesdays this season, happily paired with Arrow, according to THR.
