This ninth season of “Smallville” gets better and better- Golden Globe-nominated actress Pam Grier (Jackie Brown, L Word) is cast in a recurring role as the DC Comics’ Agent Amanda “The Wall” Waller. Amanda Waller was ranked IGN’s 60th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time in their top 100 this year.
Grier began her acting career in the seventies with blaxploitation films and starred in Quentin Tarantino’s “Jackie Brown” in 1997. She will appear as Waller in the second half of the Justice Society two-part ep in January, aptly called “Legends”. Amanda Waller first appeared in the comic series “Legends” #1 in 1986 and was the creation of John Ostrander, Len Wein, and John Byrne. Waller is most recently seen in the comic “Justice League Unlimited” and appeared in the animated “Batman/Superman: Public Enemies”.
