Ooo, are we witnessing the synergy of The Mouse? Yesterday we told you about the status of the Maleficent, a Disney film project currently in development about the wicked fairy godmother who cursed the infant Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty.

Zap2It is now reporting that the ABC series Once Upon a Time has cast someone for the role of – you guessed it – Maleficent in that show, which is about the inhabitants of the fairy tale world being cursed to live in modern-day Storybrooke, Maine. As ABC is part of the Disney family, we’re seeing a lovely vehicle for the promotion of Disney film projects in the tv series. We’re all for it!

But maybe the best news of all is WHO has been cast: it’s Kristen Bauer Van Straten, gorgeous bitchy Pam from True Blood. What GREAT casting! We can’t wait to see what lovely wickedness she brings to this much-anticipated show. Reportedly it will be a one-episode appearance, but any appearance by Pam will be welcome, especially if her skin isn’t melting off. Of course, we can’t wait to see this show, period, but the addition of Pam makes us all the more excited!

Once Upon a Time premieres on Sunday, October 23 at 8/7c on ABC.
