The original Ghost Rider film was written and directed by Mark Steven Johnson and starred Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze, a stunt motorcyclist who morphs into the demon vigilante Ghost Rider. Despite reports of forward momentum on David Goyer’s script for the sequel to “Ghost Rider” -during a recent interview, Nicolas Cage says that these days, he’s the wrong person to ask for updates.
When asked about Ghost Rider 2, Cage said;
“You probably know more about it then I do, What have you read?”
Cage says that he hasn’t heard anything about David S. Goyer’s sequel and is afraid to comment on his future with the character. When asked if he was still attached, Cage said;
“Yeah, well I don’t really know how to answer that, Because I don’t have all the details.”
Cage is currently receiving his best reviews in years for “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans”, where he is re-teamed with his Ghost Rider co-star – Eva Mendes. Cage says that he and Mendes didn’t spend much time on the New Orleans set talking about their past adventures with Ghost Rider, nor their possible future in that universe. Cage said;
“Yeah, that’s right, I don’t know [if we’ll reunite again]. I don’t know where Eva’s at on that.”
“I have to be careful about how I answer these questions about ‘Ghost Rider’, Because if I say anything, it seems to set the Internet ablaze.”
