One of my favorite parts of Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr.’s Icon comic series “Kick-Ass” is Hit Girl – the swearing, cute as a purple haired button, super heroine/assassin that was introduced in the middle of the series. Even though the character’s use of “the C-word” made financing Matthew Vaughn’s big screen adaptation of “Kick-Ass” that much harder, sticking with Hit Girl’s original take became central for the filmmakers. Today, Lionsgate released the latest in their series of “Kick-Ass” promotional posters featuring the character (as played by 12-year-old Chloë Moretz).

Hit-Girl is just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill assassin who wields a sword and slices and dices drug kingpins for fun. She’s also 11 years old. But as Kick-Ass soon learns, Hit-Girl isn’t the only other costume-wearing weirdo running around out there.
