Fox has now released trailers for three of the four Our Kind of Shows it will be airing during the 2014-15 season. We already posted the extended Gotham trailer for you last week, but I’ve included it again below because it’s so great. The two new trailers are for 2015 series Hieroglyph and 2015 event series Wayward Pines.

Fair warning: I cannot begin to tell you how much I loathe and despise the music they threw onto the Hieroglyph trailer. Sorry, but I really hate when they use current music for a trailer because they think that will help you relate to it or like it. It ruins it for me, to the point where it’s hard for me to focus on anything else going on in the trailer. GAH. Maybe if I just mute and watch it, I’ll want to watch the series when it graces our screens next year. Because I cannot believe that they’d use that music for the actual show.

But as much as I am, oh let’s call it “disappointed,” in the music for Hieroglyph, I love, adore, and would marry everything about the Wayward Pines trailer. Everything. It’s the kind of trailer I feel was made specifically for me. Yes I know it’s very Twin Peaks. YAY. Fox told us that it would be “evocative” of Twin Peaks, so let’s think of it as an homage. An homage with a likely more accessible resolution, since it’s an event series, meaning the story concludes at the end of the one and only season. HOW PERFECT for a mystery series! I’m ready to start stacking the donuts right now.
