Just yesterday we brought you the news that Paramount Pictures and Michael Bay had reportedly decided not to pick up Megan Fox‘s option for Transformers 3. Sources said that Bay wanted to take the story in another direction and planned to cast another actress as the love interest for Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf).

Now, representatives for the actress have said,

“Megan Fox will not be starring in Transformers 3, It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best.”

TheWrap is reporting that half of the actresses in Hollywood are being considered as replacements for Fox and that Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) has already had discussions with Michael Bay about the role, and is the current front-runner.
