Matthew Fox And Evangeline Lilly To Retire From TV Acting After LOST Concludes

You are no doubt glued to your televisions watching the sixth season premiere of “Lost” as this article is published, but I hope that you will find this when it’s over! Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly both were interviewed about the concluding season of ABC’s “Lost” and the inevitable topic of what’s next for the actors arose.  Check out what each had to say about their futures.

Matthew Fox expects to be moving to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family.  Fox says:

“I think this will be the last time you see me on TV. I’m either going to do the kind of things I want to do in the film world, or maybe I’ll just do something else entirely… I’ve done almost 300 hours of [TV]. It’s been two really great experiences between Party of Five and Lost. I’m ready to take it to the next step and see what I can do in that [film] world.”

Evangeline Lilly is not only retiring from TV roles, but acting all together.  Check out what she says here. It sounds like she’ll likely not be far from the set for too long!  Lilly explains:

“I love this process so much. I love telling stories. I love this unbelievable group effort that goes into it and I love the dynamics of what a film does when people watch it and the inspirational qualities of film. So I have a feeling that I will probably want have my fingers in the pot somehow, somewhere. I just haven’t found where that is yet. I don’t know if anything has gelled yet. I don’t know if it fits. Acting is something I appreciate, and I think it’s been an amazing experience. But I’m not passionate about acting the way you probably should be to call yourself an actor.”

Lilly states that she wants to return to Africa to do philanthropic work.  She also says:

“I want to have some quiet space. [I want to] drop off the radar a little bit and enjoy a little bit of normalcy again.”
