Marvel Comics has announced the forthcoming miniseries X-Men: Pixie Strikes Back at Fan Expo in Toronto. Written by Kathryn Immonen (Hellcat) with art by Sara Pichelli, the four-issue series will focus on the young X-Men character Megan Gwynn, otherwise known as Pixie.
Explaining how she became involved with the project, Immonen told Comic Book Resources:
“[Marvel editor] Nick Lowe asked me. I knew that he’d been keen to get a Pixie project up and running, and he thought, based on work that we’ve done together, that I’d be a good fit.
“While I certainly knew what there is to know about her already, or rather, what there is to know about her based on her appearances, I confess I hadn’t really given the character a second thought.
“But you know, how often are you given the opportunity to put the screws to a character for which Matt Fraction has expressed deep affection?”
The series promises to reveal more about Pixie’s past and family.
Immonen and Pichelli have previously collaborated on Marvel’s Runaways.
X-Men: Pixie Strikes Back debuts in December.
