Marvel Comics has revealed details of its forthcoming series Vengeance Of The Moon Knight ahead of its debut later this month.
The character has previously appeared in his own comic book, titled Moon Knight, which ran for over two decades. The new series will see the Knight settle a score with old enemy Norman Osborn.
“Moon Knight is back in the big apple and looking to pick a fight with the man who chased him out of town in the first place, Norman Osborn,” read Marvel’s synopsis. “Freed of his demons and armed with an arsenal of incredible new weapons, Moon Knight is finally the hero he always aspired to be – taking out criminals with massive flair and throwing down the gauntlet to his old nemesis. Is Osborn ready for round two?”
Written by Gregg Hurwitz and drawn by Jerome Opena, the debut issue will kick off a new plotline titled Shock And Awe.
Moon Knight was originally created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, making his debut as an antagonist in Werewolf By Night #32 in 1975. The character has since appeared in The Spectacular Spider-Man, as well as his own long-running solo series.
Vengeance Of The Moon Knight #1 will be released on September 16.
