Marvel has announced its forthcoming miniseries Doomwar at the Baltimore Retailer Summit. The five-issue miniseries will see heroes including the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Deadpool and Black Panther take on the legendary villain Doctor Doom.

Doomwar will be written by Jonathan Maberry (Black Panther) with art by Will Conrad (Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Ken Lashley (The Flash: Fastest Man Alive). Doom has incurred the heroes’ wrath for his involvement in the events of Marvel’s Dark Reign storyline.

“They go after him in a major way; not just personally, but going after all of his operations, which we’ll find out is a much bigger thing than we’ve ever seen before,” said Maberry.

“It’s kind of a ‘we’ve had enough’, line-in-the-sand sort of thing. It’s going to involve some key players and a whole lot of action.”

Doomwar will debut in 2010.
