The moon still holds perpetual fascination for those of us on earth. Paramount has greased the tracks on a sci-fi film called Luna with director Doug Liman (Covert Affairs, The Bourne Trilogy) on board as a writer, director and producer. Luna is about “renegade scientists who build a spaceship for spare parts to steal an energy source from the moon.”
According to Variety, Luna originally began at DreamWorks where Liman and John Hamburg worked on a developing the first few drafts. Paramount is rumored to have brought on David Ellison’s Skydance Pictures and New Regency to co-finance the project.
Liman will produce Luna with Simon Kinberg and Allison Shearmur. Kinberg had completed the most recent version of the script.
No casting decisions have been confirmed as of yet, but word is that Bradley Cooper, Chris Evans, and Andrew Garfield have been approached by Liman.
