ABC’s “Lost” will bow out with a series finale episode that even two hours could not contain. The network has unconventionally allowed an additional half hour for this series closer, bringing the total run time to two and a half hours (sorry, commercials are included). Showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse realized in the editing room that more time was needed to resolve the show.
After six straight days of editing the finale, the pair had finally finished work on the series finale on Monday night. Watch the finale episode of “Lost”, entitled “The End”, on May 23rd in a full night to celebrate the show, beginning with a two hour retrospective “Lost: The Final Journey” at 7pm ET. The finale begins at 9pm ET and will be followed by a special edition of “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost” at 12:05am ET.
On the preceding Saturday night, ABC will air the original two-hour pilot of “Lost” with pop-up trivia.
