ABC is launching an attention-getting advertising campaign for its reboot of the 1980’s TV series “V”. Starting from October 23rd (Friday) till the series premiere on November 3rd (Tuesday), the network will be tagging the skies of fifteen major cities around the U.S.
There will be twenty-two different messages that show the iconic red “V”. Cities in which the skywriting campaign will occur include New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Seattle, Orlando, Philadelphia, Tempe, Atlanta, Dallas, Austin and Las Vegas. New York and Los Angeles will see multiple messages throughout the campaign. Look above your city’s major landmarks for these messages!

“V” stars Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost) as Erica Evans, Morris Chestnut as Ryan Nichols, Joel Gretsch (The 4400) as Father Jack, Lourdes Benedicto as Valerie, Logan Huffman as Tyler Evans, Laura Vandervoort (Smallville) as Lisa, with Morena Baccarin as Anna, and Scott Wolf as Chad Decker. Visitors (aka V’s) arrive in spaceships hovering over 29 major cities worldwide and offer peace and technology in exchange for supplies they need, but the V’s have a hidden agenda for earth.
It looks like ABC is backing this horse strongly despite the bumps and halts in the show’s production timeline. I’m just glad they’re warning people about planes in the sky over major cities before they started this campaign!
“V” will premiere November 3rd on ABC at 8/7 C.
