‘Kick-Ass’ Sequel? Mark Millar Says So

kickass_cover-thumb-330x502-19195Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming “Kick-Ass,” which is based on the comic book series by Mark Millar, is hitting theaters on April 16, 2009, but someone is already talking about a sequel.

The comic book’s creator himself, Mark Millar recently said a sequel would happen within the next two years, and now he tells MTV the story is coming together as well.

“There’s a basic plot,” he said. “The series ends on a teaser for the next one, and the movie ends on that teaser, too.

“We don’t want to sound too cocky, but we know this is good,” Millar said. “It didn’t cost that much money to make. There will definitely be another one.”

Millar is also behind “Wanted,” which had a successful theatrical run. A sequel to that is also in development.

Considering this is one of a few movies I’m really anxious to see, I’m glad they’re already thinking about a sequel. Still… talking about the next installment 8 months before the original is even released takes brass ones.
