Earlier this summer, we brought you the news when Universal Pictures began talks to handle the Kick-Ass sequel, with Jeff Wadlow (Cry Wolf, Never Back Down), who wrote the Kick-Ass 2 script for Matthew Vaughn directing.
Shortly thereafter, Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse were all set to close deals to reprise their roles for the sequel, and Nicolas Cage was said to be returning for a cameo in the film tentatively scheduled to shoot in the fall.
Now, Deadline reports that the sequel has scored its first new cast member. John Leguizamo (Ice Age: Continental Drift) has reportedly joined the cast of Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall as Javier, the bodyguard assigned to protect aspiring evil guy Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse).
Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall is in development.
