Joe Carnahan to Direct DAREDEVIL Reboot; Marvel and Fox May Trade Superheroes

Last month, we brought you the news when director David Slade exited the director’s chair on 20th Century Fox‘s forthcoming reboot of Daredevil, being penned by David James Kelly, who is reportedly adapting Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s comic storyline Born Again for the film.

Now, Variety reports that the studio is looking to hire Joe Carnahan (The Grey) to helm the project, and seems to be in a hurry to get filming underway, as the studio’s rights to the character expire on October 10th of this year and revert back to Marvel if they aren’t in production.

Rumor has it that Marvel and Fox are working on something of a trade-off, which would give Fox more time to make Daredevil in exchange for returning some of it’s character’s movie rights back to Marvel. The trade say that characters being mentioned are Galactus and the Silver Surfer from the Fantastic Four universe.

Fox now has to decide if they’re willing to do the trade-off.
