Gil Bellows (“24: Redemption”, “Ally McBeal”) has been cast as DC character Maxwell Lord on the CW’s “Smallville”. Maxwell Lord will appear in the nineteenth episode, entitled “Charade” of this ninth season of the show. This guest role may turn into a recurring role, but whether the businessman that develops the power to control minds is for the forces of good or evil is yet to be revealed.

There’s been some speculation that Lord may be working for Amanda Waller’s (played by Pam Grier) Checkmate organization.

The guest role may potentially become a recurring slot. “Charade” will be aired in April.
