Just last week we brought you the news that Italian actress, Violante Placido (The American) and Ciarán Hinds (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1) were in talks to join the cast of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
Now, THR reports that Idris Elba (The Losers, Thor) and Johnny Whitworth (CSI: Miami, Valley of the Sun) are in talks to join the Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank, Crank 2) directed sequel.
In the film, Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage), is hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse, when he is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Ciarán Hinds), who wants to take over his mortal son’s body on the boy’s birthday. Violante Placido will play the mortal boy’s Mother. Idris Elba will play an alcoholic warrior monk tasked with finding Ghost Rider, and Johnny Whitworth will play a criminal who is recruited by the devil to find the boy and is later turned into a demonic creature.
